A big jump from Grenada to the south east exploring Peniscola, Castellofolit, Majorca and finally Barcelona.
We departed Spain on June 26th but is NOT ADIOS.

Peniscola on the Mediterranean
We choose the town of Peniscola as keen to experience the Mediterranean for a couple of days and shorten the distance to Castellofolit. A 636km jump! Spain has such excellent expressways, 120km speed limits and minimal traffic.
Also had an interesting Castle. The Castle was built in the 13th Century by the Knights Templar. And has been sensationally restored. Definitely worth a visit.
As discovered Peniscola has an extraordinary array of restaurants all with views over the Mediterranean. Our AirBnB apartment overlooked the main beach.
Castellfolit
Paul Myers is entirely responsible for inclusion of this unique town into our itinerary. Emailed us a picture early in our travels, looked very interesting, so we researched further, found an AirBnB in the heart of the old town, and booked it!
NOT DISAPPOINTED.
Palma, Majorca
We know much about Majorca from cycling and also on recommendation by our daughter Lexy who visited from London. Again, selected an apartment in the heart of the old town in Palma.
We walked everywhere. Lots of interesting places to explore.
And our day trip exploring Majorca with Ferchu in his convertible Mini!!!!
Barcelona
Much to the delight of our son Thomas we visited whilst the F1 motor racing was in Barcelona. Got enough photos to satisfy Thomas and also gate crashed a Williams motor sport function (well they did invite us in!!!).
And just for Thomas, highlights of the Formula 1!!!
DARN BLOCKED!!!
Adios Espana
It was Theresa's suggestion that we focused on Spain. The original intention was to walk the full Camino and we allow 4 months for this. Then Theresa's knee injury meant we needed to limit the Camino.
So we decided to keep the original airline bookings. Initial plan was to visit Spain and Portugal.
Theresa quite rightly suggested we focused on Spain only given our efforts to learn Spanish and would give us extra days in key locations.
Proved EXACTLY THE RIGHT suggestion as we spent anywhere from 2-5 days in various locations.
And gave us time to include London and Ireland in our itinerary.
Our time in Spain is over for now, we plan to return for the full Camino in 2026 following in Nicole and Thommo footsteps who do so later this year (their 2nd trek).
