2023 October Port Macquarie

Time for a break from Brisbane. Port Macquarie is an easy 6-8 hours drive with the van. The Breakwater Caravan park is located on the water. And lots of interesting restaurants and walks await.

Stunned Mullet (known by the locals as the Stunned Wallet) did not disappoint. As before excellent food, wine and service. We also attended a wine tasting and degustation. Sadly the venue chosen was too noisy.

And the Whalebone Restaurant on the river simply excelled.

Then there was the pub (awesome!), Rydges (average), the coffee shop at the Surf club (yihaa), and the quaint restaurant on the end of the NRMA Caravan Park (great place to park for breakfast, lunch or a cleansing cocktail!).

Best restaurant of all was to be found at "Mark's" at time 137 in the caravan park!!!

The walks were fabulous. A long one out to the lighthouse via coastal paths with some beaches. And then we found a great 12k loop via the Surf Club.
